Rui Pedro Claro began his studies of Portuguese Guitar in 2001 and ten years later started to accompany Fado de Lisboa. He has collaborated with several Fado singers and Fado houses ever since. He was part of various recordings, such as “Um Porto de Fado”, by Fernanda Moreira, and “Nem tudo isto é Fado, by Cristina Bacelar.
BIOGRAPHY
Rui Pedro Claro was born in Porto in 1981. He began his studies of Portuguese guitar in 2001 at the Oporto Conservatory of Music and was first focused on the instrumental repertoire of the instrument and on the influences of the Brazilian “chorinho” and erudite music.
In 2011, he started to accompany Fado de Lisboa and was invited by the Fado singer Sandra Correia to become a resident guitarist at the Real Feytoria house – which made him a professional in the area. He has collaborated with several Fado singers and Fado houses ever since.
He was part of various recordings, such as “Um Porto de Fado”, by Fernanda Moreira, and “Nem tudo isto é Fado” – a fusion of Flamenco and Fado, by Cristina Bacelar.
