We produce and take to the stage unique presentations of Coimbra and Lisbon’s Fado with impeccable technical and artistic quality.
We bring to life, in our small auditorium, live music performances that allow our visitors not only to listen, but also to get to know Fado’s history and essence.
We also set stage in the home of others. We go to different venues and build customized combinations of repertoire and scenic alignments depending on both the event and the public. This results in unforgettable and culturally enriching interventions.
In the heart of Oporto
In a privileged location, on a street overlooking the Douro River and the historic area of Ribeira, Fado na Baixa ocuppies the first floors of a charming 18th-century building and welcomes you in a sober, cosy and intimate atmosphere, right in the heart of Oporto.
The live performances of Lisbon and Coimbra’s Fado are taken to the stage on the ground floor of the venue, in a room licensed by the IGAC, equipped with 67 seats. The thoughtful layout, technical features and room’s decor ensure harmonious access to all seats, even for people with reduced mobility, providing all the conditions for a premium experience.
Those who visit us can also explore the first floor, where you can find Fado related articles, which are the result of a careful selection made by our musicians, fadistas and staff.
Easily accessible by public transport – São Bento’s Station, with connections to almost the entire city, is five minutes walk – and with numerous car parks, prestigious hotels and restaurants around, Fado na Baixa is at Oporto’s epicenter. You can visit us following a cruise on the Douro River, a stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage Ribeira do Porto, or after a visit to the famous Port Wine cellars, located on the opposite side of the river.
